J&C SPORTS ACADEMY POLICIES FOR SCHOOLS
Our commitment to you:
We commit to move provide coaches with a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification for all contracted bookings and assignments. Our coaches will always be CRB checked and first aid qualified.
Our coaches undertaking:
• To arrive at least 15mins early to prepare the session
• To follow NGB approved session plans using the J&C coaching manual
• To ensure that all sessions are S.A.F.E:
Safe
Appropriate
Fun
Effective
• To dismiss children to appropriate guardian or parent where necessary
• To provide a role model for children in attitude, behaviour and appearance at all times
Coaching Continuity:
We understand that the most effective coaching is delivered when there is continuity between the coaches and the children. Our aim is always to provide one coach for the duration of any assignment. However, in the event that a coach is unable to run a session, we will use one of senior coaches to cover the lesson. if that is not possible then we will contact our Level 2 qualified reserve coaches to come in.
Coaching Development:
At J &C our coaches are never static and always aiming to achieve more. We follow a process of R.T.D –
Recruit, Train, Develop with all of our coaches:
Recruit – All coaches that we recruit must have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in at least one sport before we proceed to interview process. This ensures that coaches have can teach children without supervision
Train – All coaches are then trained through our internal development programmes to ensure they understand the J&C Sports Academy ethos. Coaches must both shadow one of our senior coaches, and then demonstrate a high quality lesson with a senior coach or Head of Sport. Our coaches also receive training led by Jazz, along with the J&C coaching syllabus. Coaches ae trained to deal with behaviou issues, special needs - so all your concerns are covered.
Develop – We push our coaches to constantly develop through external courses, with the National governing body of sport – UKCC – encouraging coaches to attain their Level 2 qualifications across a variety of sports! Affiliated to one of the top Academies in London - we push our young players to the elite level.
Coach Assessment:
Our policy includes continuous assessment of our coaches to ensure that they achieve, and continue to deliver, the highest standard of coaching required by J&C, and all coaches are graded accordingly according to 3 grades:
PE Specialists / Sports specialists = Coaching specialists who have over 5 years experience delivering high quality Physical Education to children. These are coaching masterminds with coaching qualifications across a range of sports (Level 2 and above) and a wealth of experience delivering high quality PE and School Sport.
Advanced Coaches = Experienced sports coaches who have done a great job at J&C Sports, consistently delivering high quality P.E and / or extended school’s activities. Advanced Coaches do not have as much experience delivering PPA cover as our Sports Specialists but are still developing (attaining more level 2 qualifications) as excellent coaches at J&C.
J&C Sports Academy Principal Jazz Rose, Heads of Sports and Team Managers undertake regular assessments of all of our coaches to ensure that all our coaches are coaching at, or are pushing to achieve, Advanced Coach or Sports Specialist level.
Equipment:
J&C Sports Academy can provide equipment for any sessions as required. However, to compensate for wear and tear to J&C Sports equipment from continuous use, and to allow us to move equipment between schools, we do charge a small equipment fee. Alternatively we can provide discounts for schools wishing to purchase their own equipment.
